“I found CrossFit through Matt – he introduced me to it and I was hooked! The workouts can be short and intense, if that is all you have time for. One of my favorite parts of CrossFit is that you never get bored: the workouts are tough, different and challenging every day. There is a competition aspect to CrossFit, but it isn’t all with others; its with yourself. I compete with my scores from last year, last month and last week. It’s so rewarding to see your progress and to be able to attempt and complete skills and lifts that you couldn’t before.

However, its not just the personal progress in the gym thats rewarding, its the relationships and community that has been cultivated within the walls of CrossFit Wachusett that are the most rewarding. We care and celebrate each other’s successes both in and out of the gym. I’m always excited to show up everyday and see our community grow as a healthy, driven group of individuals and grow as an awesome group of people that have become the CrossFit Wachusett Family.”

“I found CrossFit in 2004. At first, it seemed like just an interesting way to workout with friends, but after digging deeper into the program and examining my own fitness level, I started to realize that CrossFit offered so much more. For me, CrossFit is a prescribed avenue to a high level of fitness. It can be tailored to fit anyone’s lifestyle and allows people to achieve their goals. On another note, the CrossFit community is like no other; everyone is inviting, motivating and encouraging. The first time I walked into a CrossFit gym, I knew the program was for me: I love everything about it – from the camaraderie with other CrossFitters to the competition with myself and my fellow CrossFiitters. The community pushes me to do better everytime I step in the gym.”

“I had read and seen articles on CrossFit for years and just disregarded it as ‘the next new fad’ of training out there. One day I realized that my wife and I were just spinning our wheels and not progressing in our fitness anymore than we already had for years. We weren’t up to challenging ourselves and testing our limits with physical fitness on our own. So, I decided to check out CrossFit again and see what the hype was all about. I read testimonials, articles, blogs and anything I could find on it. The next step was to check it out first hand, so I had to find one that was local. That’s when I came across CrossFit Wachusett in August of 2011. All it took was one workout with Kelsey and my wife and I were hooked. CrossFit, Kelsey and Matt took everything I had learned about exercise from the mainstream media and flipped it upside down. No longer are the days of feeling like a hamster on a treadmill going nowhere fast. I immediately started to look and feel better about myself through being challenged and put to the test on a daily basis. The workouts are tailored to fit everyone’s individual levels of fitness so that anyone…again..ANYONE can do the workouts. The next great thing, if not THE greatest thing, about CrossFit is the community. You will not find another sport/recreation as accepting and encouraging as CrossFit. It’s not just the CrossFit Wachusett community, its the whole community worldwide. It encompasses what true sportsmanship is all about: camaraderie. You will always have someone there encouraging you to give it your all whether that person is someone you have known for years or a complete stranger.”

“I had no idea what I was getting into when I started at CrossFit Wachusett in September 2011. For years I had struggled with finding the consistency necessary in improving my physical strength and health. On my own, I’d search for the perfect exercise “routine.” I’d go to the gym and do some cardio and then use a lifting Machine, hike the mountain, or do some sit-ups and push-ups at home. Although I was exercising, the motivation I craved and needed to pursue my goals was out of reach. I had found my routine, but that’s all it was: routine. I had found it on my own, but that was another problem: I was on my own. I had a hard time sleeping the night before I was introduced to the WOD. I knew CrossFit was hard, and I expected the challenge of pushing myself to limits not yet known to me. What I didn’t expect was, underneath the sweat, tears, and sore muscles, my motivation was finally in my grasp. I craved working out. I craved getting stronger. I craved learning as much about CrossFit as possible. I was no longer alone in the task of planning my own workouts, trying to find the perfect regimen. My workouts are programmed and scheduled for me on a daily basis. I look forward to conquering my goals and turning weaknesses into strengths, and cheering on those pushing themselves right next to me. The members of CrossFit Wachusett have become my second family. We take on the challenges and triumphs as one, cheering each other on and being the first ones there when you get that long awaited personal record. Everyday I step into that gym is a new personal record for me. I feel stronger, healthier, and happier. I have finally found my consistency.”

“I have always been an athletic person, playing a sport every season. Because I was always so busy with practices and games, I never really went to the gym or did any type of weight lifting. However, after high school, when I no longer played sports, I started to go to the gym and would always find myself falling into the same routine and quickly becoming bored. Motivation was a huge factor that I was lacking while trying to workout by myself. I started to see things posted about CrossFit and decided that I needed to check it out. After doing some research, I came across CrossFit Wachusett as my local gym and joined an On-Ramp class. The results I have seen and continue to see are more than I have with any other workout routine. I gain more strength everyday and there is not a day that I don’t learn something new. Kelsey and matt were so welcoming to me when I joined, as was the whole CrossFit Wachusett community. Since finding CrossFit, I have fallen in love with it and look forward to doing it everyday. The community is something that you do not usually see at a typical fitness facility and it is such an awesome atmosphere! Having people that you just met cheer you through your workouts and give you that extra motivation that you need to finish is an awesome feeling. I am honored to be a part of such a great community and family at CrossFit Wachusett.”

“I discovered CrossFit in the winter of 2012 while on my computer searching through videos on YouTube of it. I was instantly drawn into this style of working out. Throughout my life, I would always change what I wanted to do for workouts: I would switch from just running and training for road races, to hitting the free weights and trying to get huge. I could never make up my mind what I wanted to do in terms of my own fitness program. After I discovered CrossFit, I looked up a workout that I would be able to do at the current “globo gym”…it happened to be “Fran.” Not knowing about scaling workouts, I tried to do this workout with the prescribed weight; worst idea ever.

I joined CrossFit Wachusett in July of that same year, which was by far the best idea ever! Not only have I become more fit, stronger and healthier, but I have met some amazing people and I continue to meet more as the number of new members grow every month. After the first couple of months, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the CrossFit lifestyle for a long time. I obtained my Level 1 Certification because as much as I love training and competing, I wanted to put the knowledge I have obtained from Matt, Kelsey and the other coaches to use and I want to share that knowledge with others. CrossFit Wachusett is not just a gym, its a family.”
